Tyrolean Advent Singing
Traditional carols and songs, performed by folk musicians and singers from North, South and East Tyrol, have always played a central role in the Tyrolean Advent Singing. In combination with a scenic play, they turn it into a unique, unforgettable experience year after year and set the mood for the upcoming Christmas festivities. ‘...da Himml brennt!’, a rediscovered Tyrolean nativity play by Sepp Landmann, the co-founder of the Tyrolean Folk Music Association, is on the programme of this year's Tyrolean Advent Singing in an adaptation by Peter Kostner. The chairwoman of the Tyrolean Theatre Association and Sepp Landmann's daughter, Beate Palfrader, will set off in search of the child together with shepherd children from all parts of Tyrol. This scenic play serves as a golden thread that skilfully connects the individual musical performances.
